Known as the jack of all trade, Busta 929 is a famous south African musician, entrepreneur, DJ, event planner, and social media star. He is quite popular for his excellent music beats and his hit ‘Umsebenzi Wethu’ is still one of the best when played in social gatherings and also in clubs.
The accomplished artist has worked with talented super star like Mr JazziQ. He is no stranger to controversy either because of his misconduct with underaged girls, making the quest to separate his professional life from his private life quite a tussle.
Mfana Thupa aka Busta 929 was born on September 19th in Midrand, Gaunteng south Africa. Not much is known about his educational background except for the fact that the popular DJ and producer attended Local High School and the university of Johannesburg south Africa.
He gained his popularity in 2020 after a joint album with Mr JazziQ. The debut album was titled Maba Jabul’Abunto. In 2021, Busta 929 released Umsebenzi Wethu and the song became one of the most played song across various south African media outlets and radio stations. He has worked alongside popular South African decorated artists like Mpura, Mgiftoz, Madam MC, Mafidzodo, Lucky Du and many others.The music producer developed a liking for music at a tender age. At seven he decided he would pursue a career as a musician with the ultimate support of his grandfather. As one of the pioneers of Amapiano, he is swimming in the glory of the genre’s success.
He has three albums to his name ; Maba Jabul’Abunto, Undisputed vol1 and Undisputed vol2. Mfana is also the founder and owner of the Thupa industry or Busta 929 merch.
Mfana has no records of any girlfriend, however he has been caught up in a controversy with underaged girls (14 year olds) partying together, earning him the name ‘Amapiano R Kelly’. Shortly after a photo of him groping an underaged girl (15 years old) sufficed online, with many tagging him a pedophile.
Irrespective of the controversy , the singer has earned for himself an estimate net worth of $4million from his musical career only.
